Dr. Damle’s research is driven by a fundamental question: how can we harness the immune system to better treat gastrointestinal cancers? Her work focuses on the unique immunology of the GI tract — particularly the role of myeloid cells and dendritic cells in shaping the tumor microenvironment — with the goal of developing new immunotherapies and bringing these discoveries directly to her patients.
