Research and/or clinical interests  

Dr. William Harris specializes in caring for patients with gastrointestinal (GI) malignancies, with a particular focus on treating primary liver cancers, bile duct cancers and gastrointestinal malignancies with spread to the liver, including neuroendocrine tumors and colorectal cancer. In addition to providing clinical care, he designs and conducts clinical trials focused on new treatments for GI malignancies, especially hepatobiliary tumors.  He is the lead medical oncology consultant for the UW Primary Liver Tumor Multidisciplinary Clinic, is involved in American Society of Clinical Oncology committees including the Hepatocellular Carcinoma Systemic Therapy Guideline Committee, serves on the board of directors for the GI Cancer Alliance, and is a member of the advisory board for the Fibrolamellar Cancer Foundation among other roles.
