Clinical and/or research interests
Dr. John Hess especially likes to work on behalf of patients who are critically ill. The Transfusion Service Laboratory uses science and public health considerations to provide the most appropriate blood products for such patients. He conducts research on better ways to use blood products through grants from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute.
