Clinical and/or research interests

Dr. Manoj Menon researches HIV-associated malignancies as well as cancer characteristics, diagnostics and treatment in low-income countries. He has documented that in Uganda, patients with both cancer and HIV present to the Uganda Cancer Institute at an earlier stage of disease. The finding affirmed his interest in using the clinical and research infrastructure used in the care of patients with HIV to increase cancer screening and referral. Dr. Menon also studies breast cancer in Uganda, including assessing the molecular profile of the disease as well as evaluating novel and clinically relevant diagnostic and therapeutic options for patients.
