RESEARCH AND/OR CLINICAL INTERESTS
Dr. Danai Dima is a physician-researcher who specializes in multiple myeloma, a blood cancer of the bone marrow plasma cells that can cause bone damage and kidney problems. Dr. Dima also treats other conditions caused by abnormal growth of plasma cells such as light chain amyloidosis which can affect the heart, kidneys and nerves, and also POEMS syndrome. Her research focuses on outcomes of patients with multiple myeloma treated with chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapies (CAR T) and novel bispecific antibodies that activate the patient's immune cells against tumor cells. She is a member of the U.S. Multiple Myeloma Immunotherapy Consortium and has published over 50 peer-reviewed publications.
