Clinical and/or research interests
Dr. Sandhya Panch is committed to the pursuit of clinical and translational studies in the niche areas of hematology/transfusion medicine. Her research interests focus on evaluating and engineering blood cells for improved transfusion, transplantation and immunotherapies. As co-chair of the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR) donor health and safety working committee and member of the FDA Blood Products Advisory Committee, she provides consultation on quality/regulatory aspects of transfusion medicine and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. She also serves as a medical advisor for patient led organizations including WAIHA (Warm Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia) Warriors, and the PDSA (Platelet Disorder Support Association).
